Alberta Cancer Foundation’s Underwear Affair raises $ 1.58 million in one week!

June 14, 2008 (Edmonton, AB) -  Alberta Cancer Foundation’s Underwear Affair raised $1.58 million this week with the support of the 1,003 participants in Edmonton today raising $640,000 and the 1,227 participants in Calgary last week raising over $936,000. Albertans dressed down in underwear costumes to get active for cancers below the waist with the 10K run/5K for critical research funding. Cancers below the waist such as prostate, colorectal, uterine and ovarian among others account for 35 percent of all newly diagnosed cancers in Alberta.

Edmontonians slip into their flashiest underwear costumes for 10K run/5K walk

Alberta Cancer Foundation’s Underwear Affair® returns to Edmonton.

June 14, 2008 (Edmonton, AB) - This evening, the Alberta Cancer Foundation kicks off the second 10k run/5k walk to uncover cures for cancers below the waist with the return of the Underwear Affair. Edmontonians will be dressed down in their snazziest underwear costumes to raise critical funds and give a voice to “hidden” and often under-funded cancers such as prostate, colorectal, and cervical among others.
